Murray State was picked seventh and Southern Illinois ninth in the Missouri Valley Conference's preseason basketball poll announced today at the league's annual media day in St. Louis.
For the third straight year, Drake was picked to win the league. The Bulldogs were last season's MVC Tournament winners, while Bradley won the regular season title.
One Murray State player, Rob Perry, was named to the MVC's Second Team pre season, while Xavier Johnson of SIU was named to the third team.
Murray State hosts Brescia in its lone exhibition game November 1st at Racer Arena. It will be the first basketball game played there since 1998.
