Mayfield advances to 2A state title game

For the first time since 2019, the Mayfield Cardinals will play for a Class 2A state title. 
 
The Cardinals defeated Lexington Christian 38-28 to advance to the their fourth state title game since winning it all in 2015.

The Cardinals are 0-3 in state title games since defeating Newport Central Catholic to win it all in 2015. 

Mayfield will face defending champion Beechwood (13-1), who defeated Lloyd Memorial 48-0 to advance. It will be a rematch of last year's semifinals game in which Beechwood topped Mayfield 38-7.
