Today is major league baseball's opening day, at least in the United States. The Tokyo Series gave the Dodgers and Cubs a 2-game jump start, but the rest of the teams get into action today.

Local fans will be heading to St. Louis and Cincinnati for their home openers.

First pitch is 3:15 today at Busch Stadium when the Cardinals host the Minnesota Twins. Sonny Gray will start on the mound for St. Louis against Pablo Lopez for the Twins.

Willson Contreras won't be behind the plate, but instead will start at first base, where he'll be a regular this season for the first time in his career.

The San Francisco Giants drop in on the Reds for a 3:10 p.m. start.  Hunter Greene will start for Cincinnati, and Logan Webb for the Giants.

The Cubs are basically still at their spring training camp, but tonight's game counts when they visit the Diamondbacks for a 9:10 start. It'll be Justin Steele for the Cubs facing  Zac Gallen for Arizona.
