The Lyon County Lyons are in the state finals of the All "A" Classic after a hard-fought 58-54 victoroy over Owensboro Catholic on Saturday.

Owensboro Catholic was on top 16-15 after one period, but the Lyons pulled back on top at the half, 24-20. Catholic outscored Lyon County in the third to pull within a basket, but the Lyons made the narrow lead stick with deadly shooting accuracy and winning the rebounding battle as they have all tournament long.

The Lyons shot an astonishing 80 percent from the floor in the second half (12 for 15), and nailed all three of their three-point shots in the third quarter. Lyon County grabbed 32 rebounds in the contest, compared to 19 for Owensboro.

Bray Kirk led the Lyons with 24 points. 

Isaac Defew had an amazing perfect night of shooting. He was 5-for-5 field goals, made both of his free throws, and nailed his only 3-point attempt for 15 points.

Luke Beickman's 18 points led Owensboro Catholic (12-6).

In Sunday's 2 p.m. title game, Lyon County (14-2) will go up against Danville Christian (16-2).
