There was plenty of offense in the first half as the Rockets led 12-10 after one period, and stretched it to 29-25 at the half. But both teams clamped down in the second half, and Whitefield cut the lead to 37-36 after three periods.
During the fourth quarter, the Lady Rockets did not score a field goal, but nailed all six free throws as Whitefield (13-4) tied the game in regulation, before Crittenden County nipped Whitefield 6-4 in the extra time.
Anna Boone paced the Rockets with 12 points, and Jordyn Hodge chipped in 11. Whitefield Academy's Noel Smith blistered the nets for 30 points.
Crittenden County (16-3) moves into Saturday's semifinal matchup with Danville Christian (13-5). Game time is 10:30 a.m. in the Owensboro Sports Center.
