Former Murray State Racer Ja Morant hosted a youth basketball skills camp Thursday at the CFSB Center to kick off MSU's Hoopalooza weekend festivities.

More than 200 kids were on the court and hundreds of parents and fans were in the stands while Ja ran the campers through drills and even some one-on-one matchups with the NBA All-Star.

Morant’s camp continues Friday, before Racer alumni gather Saturday night for the annual Hoopalooza dinner and celebration, which will include Morant’s induction into the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame.

The rest of the 2024 class includes: Daniel Calhoun (Baseball, 2006-09), Becca Lamb (Volleyball, 2007-10), Coach Velvet Milkman (Women's Golf, 1993-22), Miyah Watford (Women's Soccer, 2017-19), Quincy Williams (Football, 2014-18) and Jack Wolf (Football, 1967-71).

Racer Hoopalooza was begun in 2013 by basketball coach Steve Prohm. The Racer Hall of Fame can be viewed here .
