Mayfield 27, Murray 17
with less then two minutes to go in the game, the Murray Tigers simply needed one first down to ice the clock and secure the win. However, Mayfield's defense had other plans. The Tigers were forced to punt with a 17-14 lead with 1:56 remaining on the clock. The Cardinals then found the end zone for the go ahead touchdown with 1:22 remaining in the game as Gray Robbins found Malik Kirby on the 50-yard pass to put Mayfield up 20-17. 

Murray had one last chance, but the Mayfield defense once again stepped up, this time with a pick-6 with 48 seconds remaining in the game to secure the Class 2A, District 1 championship.

The Cardinals (7-2) will host Christian County (1-8) next week. The Tigers (7-2) will travel to Madisonville-North Hopkins (6-3). 


Apollo 54, Marshall County 27
Marshall and Apollo met Friday for the final spot in the district playoff picture on the line. A close game early as Apollo had a 27-24 lead at the halftime break. However, the home team exploded in the second half to outscore the Marshals 27-3 to close out the game and lock up the final spot in the playoffs. 

The Marshals (3-6) will have one more chance to pick up their first 4-win season since 2017 as they travel to McLean County (6-3) for their final regular season game next week. 


Caldwell County 36, Crittenden County 27
The Tigers picked up their first win against Crittenden County in two years. The Rockets had one the previous two meetings by a combined 48-20. The Tigers however have now won 12 of their last 14 meetings with the Rockets. 

Caldwell County (3-6) will travel to Trigg County (3-6) next week, while Crittenden County (3-6) will host Calloway County (0-9). 


Graves County 49, Muhlenberg County 0
The Eagles locked up the second spot in the 5A District 1 race with the shutout win. The Eagles managed touchdown on the ground, through the air, one on defense with a pick-6 and one on special teams with a punt-return. 

Graves County (7-2) will travel to McCracken County (5-4) next week.
