Major league pitcher and southern Illinois resident Lance Lynn has announced on Tuesday that he is officially retiring from baseball.

Lynn made the announcement on a podcast with his wife posted to Facebook this morning.

Lynn spent the 2024 season back with the St. Louis Cardinals and made 23 starts in which he recorded a 3.84 ERA with a record of 7-4. On July 30, Lynn defeated the Rangers, becoming the 23rd pitcher to earn a victory against all 30 MLB teams.
