The Madisonville Miners took over first place in the Ohio Valley League after a 9-8 win over the Paducah Chiefs at Elmer Kelley Stadium on Monday.
Paducah broke out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and led 5-4 after three innings before Madisonville scored two runs each in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings.
The Chiefs added three runs in the fifth, but were shut out the rest of the way.
Will Gibbs and Kyle Hayes each had two hits. Carson Mohler took the pitching loss in relief.
Paducah is 11-7, a game behind the Miners in the standings.
The Chiefs host Fulton Tuesday night at 6:30 in Brooks Stadium.
