Ballard County Schools names new girls' basketball coach

Ballard County Schools has named its new girls' basketball coach.

School officials announced Wednesday Barry Phillips, the Ballard Memorial junior varsity girls' coach last season, is the new girls' varsity coach.

Phillips begins his third year teaching health and PE for Ballard Memorial High School and Ballard County Middle School in the fall, and his fifth year teaching.

Phillips, originally from Indiana, taught in Winchester and served as assistant coach for the boys' team at Henry Clay High School in Lexington before arriving in Ballard County.
