Bertha M. Duncan, 83, of Paducah, KY passed away at 2:31 a.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Baptist Health of Paducah. Bertha was a long time member of Gospel Assembly Church where she had a servant’s heart and was known by many as “Mom”. She truly had a nurturing spirit, always wanting to be supportive and encouraging others . Bertha was truly a servant of the Lord and to the church. She was retired from Bradshaw and Weil Insurance Agency.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Charles S. Duncan of Paducah, KY; daughter, Paula Duncan Sikes and husband, Dave of Paducah, KY; son, Stephen Duncan and wife Rebekah of Paducah, KY; brother, Paul Reed of Carterville, IL; grandchildren, Reed Duncan and Kathryn Duncan both of Paducah, KY; nephews, Michael Reed, Jeff Montgomery and Jason Montgomery.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Reed Montgomery and one niece, Paula Reed. Her parents were Roy Edward Reed and Ila Mae Peeler Reed.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Gospel Assembly Church with Rev. Encil Edmonds and Rev. Mike Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Gospel Assembly Church.
