Nedra Courtney, aged 76, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024 at JourneyCare hospice facility in Barrington, IL. She was born in Mayfield, KY to Mildred and Floyd Shelton. Nedra was a proud resident of Mayfield, KY and was very active in her community. She was a retired medical transcriptionist from Jackson purchase medical center. Nedra is survived by her brother Richard (Carolyn) Shelton of Mayfield, son David (Heather) Courtney of Chicago, and her grandchildren Jonathan Courtney of Jackson Mississippi, Cassidy Courtney of Indianapolis Indiana, Nathan Diggles, and Jackson Courtney. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Courtney, and daughter Kim Phillips. Nedra was a woman of extraordinary faith that she was proud to share. She had a huge heart for helping the community as well as her family. Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society or to a Mayfield community organization in her name. She will be deeply missed by her friends and loved ones. Proverbs 31: 10-31
