Margaret Louise Baker Taylor, 95, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

She was a native of Farmersville in Caldwell County, Kentucky, and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1946.  After graduation, she lived in San Francisco for six months, before returning to western Kentucky.  She relocated several times with husband Allan, including Fredonia, Princeton, Marion, Francis, Reidland, and Lake Barkley areas of Kentucky before moving to Chattanooga, TN, to be closer to their children and grandchildren in 1991. Margaret was a member of Fredonia and Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Churches. She was an award-winning District Sales Manager for Avon, where she was employed for over 25 years. She was honored with the commission of Kentucky Colonel, bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky for noteworthy accomplishments and service.

Margaret was born on March 10, 1928, to the late Lou Edward Baker and Rowena Son Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Allan Howard Taylor; infant son, James Bryan Taylor; sister, Mary Baker Wade; brothers, James Suppelle and Champ Wylie Baker; and daughter-in-law, Sammie Kaye Taylor.


Margaret is survived by her sons, Eddie Taylor, Chattanooga, TN; Bill Taylor, Mendocino, CA and Reno, NV; Tommy Taylor and wife, Jule, Atlanta, GA; Bob Taylor and wife, Debbie, Ooltewah, TN; daughter, Peggy Taylor, Fort Oglethorpe, GA; grandchildren, Tara Taylor and husband Justin Reuter, Reston, VA; Michael Taylor and wife, Cindy, Huntington, WV; Stephanie McFall and husband, Tyler, Harrison, TN; Allan Taylor and wife, Amanda, Chattanooga, TN; Chelsea Taylor, Atlanta, GA; Luke, Jacob, Adrian and Ryan Taylor, Mendocino, CA; and great-grandchildren, Calle and Mason Arnold, Chattanooga, TN; Cooper, Baker, and Leena Taylor, Huntington, WV; Arthur, Charlie, and Josie Taylor, Chattanooga, TN; and Kayelynn Reuter, Reston, VA.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Paducah, KY, Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fredonia, KY, or the charity of your choice.
