Charles Forrest Baird, aged 28, passed away in Denver, Colorado, on May 21, 2024. Born on February 1, 1996, in Paducah, Kentucky, Forrest, as he was known to all of us, had a deep love for his family and friends, and had a special and immense love for his wife. Characterized by a sharp mind and independent spirit, he approached life with a curious mindset, always seeking to understand the world around him and uncover its hidden truths. His analytical nature and thirst for knowledge drove him to excel in his pursuits and to constantly seek out new challenges.
Forrest is survived by his devoted wife, Lia Stertz, and their fur babies, Yoshi, Nobu, and Booth; his loving mother, Chandra Guill, and her husband Jeff; his brothers, James Allan and Matthew; and his father, Glenn Baird; his grandparents Tom and Dottie Morgan, Donna Baird, and Carol Guill.
Forrest served his country honorably in the Navy, exemplifying service and dedication. He was a man of many passions, deeply loving his family and enthusiastically engaging in many hobbies. He was an individual who found solace and adventure in nature. Whether hunting, snowboarding, or scuba diving, Forrest connected deeply with the outdoors, which offered him a sense of balance and excitement. In addition to his appreciation for nature, Forrest had a passion for gaming. In the virtual worlds he explored, he found both challenge and connection.
Charles Forrest Baird will forever be remembered for his passion and his love for his family and friends. His sharp wit, fierce loyalty, and steadfast determination will be deeply missed. Though he may no longer walk among us, his legacy will endure in the memories of those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Forrest's life will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church 2945 Oaks Rd Paducah KY on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm, continuing after with more stories and a fellowship meal after the service.
