Charles (Slim) Loren Rose

Charles (Slim) Loren Rose 90 of the Hicks Community passed Saturday March 9, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah, KY. 

He was born January 2, 1934 to the late Ray and Kathleen Sheldon Rose. On March 11, 1955 he married Norma Ann Oxford to this union they added four children of which he is survived by three of them. Charles retired from Elf Atochem as a hoistman a job he proudly held and respected. Upon his retirement he bought our childhood home back and began another project to his life. Slim loved his home and could be caught taking care of it daily. He spent his winters planning for the first glimpse of spring as to prepare his garden he put out every year and so proud of. He made a sport out of mowing and tending his yard to perfection. Besides always being busy his other interest was restoring vintage cars. He loved his family dearly always making every effort to fulfill our dreams and wants. He was a beautiful dad. We couldn't have ask for any better. He cherished his daily phone calls from his beloved friends so they could keep up with their current events and politics. 

Charles is survived by his children, Christy Lee Brian, Mary Beth (John) Warfield of Paducah, KY, Charles Leon (Cleo) (Jeannie) Rose of Cave-In-Rock, IL; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents Charles is preceded in death by his former wife Norma, his son Paul Wayne Rose, his brother, Fred Rose and sister Freda Goolsby. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Cave Hill Cemetery with Brother Harold Miller officiating.
