Mrs. Marie Jeannette Hicks

Mrs. Marie Jeannette Hicks, age 100, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mrs. Hicks was born on June 9, 1924, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Alfred Waters Bargar and Marian Ayers Bargar. She was a retired real estate agent, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and her Circle and Sunday school class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Louis E. Hicks; granddaughter, Ashley Stevens Gesler; and her siblings: Alfred W. Bargar, Jr., John O. Bargar, and Joseph Bargar.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeannette Louise Hicks Stevens of Vacaville, California; five grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Mierarr of Bayside, California, Lesley Brooke Stevens of Sullivans Island, South Carolina, Tanya Renee Hicks Taylor of Ohio and Daniyel Hicks of Oregon; great grandchildren, Eleri B. Gesler of Lexington, Kentucky, Gwyneth G. Gesler of Florida, Eowyn F. Gesler of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Sinjin M. Gesler of Murray, Kentucky.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Home & Cremation Services. Rev. Jim Stahler will officiate, and entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum. No public visitation will be held.
