William Daniel Thompson was preceded in Death by William Joel and Rebecca Ruth Thompson, and Herbert Eugene and Edeth Foust.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 15 years, Cheryl Beth Thompson and they shared a blended family, Both Biological Step children and grandchildren. Heather Leigh Lowery and husband Jeffery, Grandchildren Caleb, Emma, and William Joshuah, Kinzie Taylor, Mason, Alayna, and Millie; Rachael Anne Wilson and husband Roderick, Grandchildren Madison and her husband Tanner Boring, Gabriel, Adrian, and Savannah; Sarah Walker and husband Keith, Grandchildren, Sunya, Haelie, Aimee and husband Alex Rosas Sanchez, Great Grandchild, Ember; Joshua Marberry and wife Samantha, Jessica Wiater and husband Taylor, and Grandchild, Rinoa.
Daniel is survived by his Parents, William Fred and Genevieve 'Genny' Thompson, Siblings Cynthia Willoughby and husband Michael, Karen Arber and husband Kevin, and Donald J. Thompson, and several nieces and nephews, all beloved.
William was born in Smyrna TN in 1960, He passed away on December 26, 2024. Danny was a graduate from Murray High School in Murray KY. Following graduation he joined the Air Force, which he honorably served for 20 years. During his military career, he received numerous honors, awards, and accomplishments, and was lovingly referred to as "Chief." His career included Medical Technologist, and served in Environmental Laboratory and Medical Laboratory in the medical science field. He traveled abroad with special assignments, and one of his most favorable events was the Launch at Cassini in 1997 from Cape Canaveral Air Station Complex. He also created the chemistry equipment for the environmental science lab for the military on Brooks AFB. He enjoyed playing Softball for his Commander Colonel Kaflin, where they traveled in various tournaments. He spoke humorously about memorable events, such as a retirement party which included the team Roof Stomp upon the Colonel's retirement traditions.
After the Air Force his career was in a Medical Laboratory and completed upon retirement as a Medical Lab Supervisor at CSL Plasma in Knoxville, TN.
Daniel enjoyed diligently studying God's Word and knew Jesus well. Upon retiring, his hobbies included home improvement, landscaping his yard, and lumberjacking adventures. And most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved Labrador, the amazing Lexi Blaze. He was an avid follower of college football, specifically a huge fan of the VOLS! Dan was a very active man, who loved his family, and had numerous friends and coworkers. He will be truly missed and leaves a lasting legacy for all who knew him. Until we meet again.
