Janette Orr Moody

Janette Orr Moody, 96, of Grant, Alabama passed from this life March 27, 2024 at Shepherd’s Cove in Albertville, Alabama.
 
She was born December 15, 1927 in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Hafford Hall Orr and Pearl Brandon Orr. She was a hairdresser in Paris, Tennessee for nearly 50 years before moving to Alabama to live near her son. She was an excellent seamstress and an exceptionally good cook making lots of scrumptious yeast rolls and country ham for her family. She was a member of Grant (Alabama) Church of Christ.
 
She leaves a daughter, Sheryl Porch and husband John of Scottsboro, Alabama and son, Darryl Moody and wife Suzy of Coaldale, Colorado; grandchildren John A. Porch and wife Lisa of Scottsboro, Alabama, Charles Porch of Decatur, Alabama, Troy Farmer of Huntsville, Alabama, Jason Moody and wife Emily of Athens, Tennessee, Jill Akins and husband Andy of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Shawn Fann and wife Chelsey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Michael Fann of Santa Cruz, California; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Porch of Scottsboro, Alabama , Lydia Porch of Owens Crossroads, Alabama, Sarah Moody of Cleveland, Tennessee, Ava Fann and Gavin Fann of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nieces, Jan Barnett and husband Mike of Hazel, Kentucky and Gaye Scott and husband Randy of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Johnny R. Orr of Hazel, Kentucky.
 
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
