E. Howard Brandon, age 94, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
 
            He was born on August 27, 1929, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late E.B. and Ruby Brandon.
 
            Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, G.T., Earl, and John Brandon; sisters, Elva Wilson and Jere Kendrick; and brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Kay Armstrong of Louisville, Kentucky.
 
            Howard was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church where he taught the Youth Sunday School Class for 40 years.
 
            He was a proud Army Veteran who served in the US Army from 1954-1956.
 
            Howard embarked on numerous adventures. One of those was his love of flying of which he was an avid pilot for 78 years. Howard had an extensive antique car collection that he showcased at his museum, Car Collectors Hall of Fame on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. He was also president of Twin Lakes Antique Car Club for 30 years. Howard’s passion of real estate began with the development of the first subdivision in Murray, Circarama. He was also the owner of B & B Brokers and co-owner of Brandon Auto World with his brother, G.T. Brandon. Howard loved being on the family farm. Howard and Ruth loved rv’ing across the country with his best friend and brother G.T. and wife Beauton and many other close friends.
 
            Howard loved people and never met a stranger. He always had a smile and new joke to tell.
 
            Howard met his wife, Ruth, the love of his life at Murray State College where they both went on to graduate from. They married on June 20, 1954, and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.
 
            Howard is survived by his wife, Ruth Brandon; son, Randy Brandon and wife Gina; daughter, Lori Sweeney; grandchildren, Holly Georgiou and husband P.J., Brandon Edmiston and wife Janet, Aron Sweeney, and Andrew Sweeney and wife Nicki; great grandchildren, Sophie Georgiou, Savannah Georgiou, Christian Georgiou, Joey Civitella, Frankie Civitella, and Benjamin Edmiston; special nieces and nephews; special friends, Joe Bill English, Jim Walters, Eddie Clyde Hale; as well as those gone before, Gene Paul King, Robert Overby, Joe Hosford, and Steve Sanders; as well as all of his antique car friends.
 
            The family would also like to give a special thanks to all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital, Village Home Health, Lifeline, Caregivers, and a special thank you to Dr. Hollis Clark.ealt
 
            A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Fair Cemetery with Eddie Clyde Hale officiating and full military honors to follow. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
