William Thomas Weatherspoon, of Paducah, departed from his earthly existence on Thursday, August 10, 2023, 7:22 p.m., at his residence. At the time of his passing, William was 65 years, 8 months, and 13 days old.
William, affectionately known as “Boody”, was born on November 28, 1957, in Clinton, KY, the son of the late W.T. Hoskins and the late Lerline Weatherspoon McEwen. He was a 1977 graduate of Hickman County H.S. and later pursued certification in small engine repair through West Kentucky Vocational School.
William was baptized at an early age and was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Oakton, KY. He was formerly employed at Residential Care Center of Paducah and retired from Paducah Housing Authority. In both positions he worked in maintenance.
The many things that he liked to do for relaxation included working on cars, especially his Box Chevy, watching NASCAR races and fishing. He was also a big UK fan. He loved family, always looked forward to family dinners, and adored his grandchildren. He was constantly spoiling them with all sorts of treats, trips to McDonalds and the time he spent with them.
William was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. Hoskins and Lerline Weatherspoon McEwen; two brothers, James Earl Luten and George Willie Hoskins; three sisters, Virginia Hoskins, Jackie Hoskins, and Jean Hoskins Harmon; and his maternal grandparents, Lorse and Lena Weatherspoon.
Leaving behind to cherish sweet memories of him are his Children, Darrell Morrow, Daniella Morrow, and Dwayne Morrow all of Paducah, KY; Four Grandchildren, Brayden Chambers of Atlanta, GA, Camrin Morrow and Amilyah Morrow, both of Bowling Green, KY, and Zo’E Morrow of Paducah, KY; Four Brothers, Antone Saxton of Mayfield, KY, Earnest Saxton of Rockford, IL, Larry Hoskins of Clarksville, TN and Kenny Hoskins of Paducah, KY; Two Sisters, Lessa Wilson (Wardelle Harvey) Wilson and Tammy Hoskins, both of Paducah, KY; One Uncle, Marshall Weatherspoon of Louisville, KY; Two Aunts, Eva Weatherspoon of Clinton, KY and Faye Weatherspoon of Paducah, KY; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends; and Special Friends, Pat Morrow, Haywood Lee, both of Paducah, KY, and William Adams of Clinton, KY.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 17, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Anthony Johnson officiating.
Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
