Trenish was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on December 13, 1947, the son of Harry Mason and Ethue Rouse Mason Maxie.
His Christian faith journey began with his baptism at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in West Paducah. Later, he attended Oakalone Christian Church.
Trenish believed in working to make a living. He retired from Paducah Country Club and for many years he was also employed at Owens Cleaners. He was a dairy farmer, but found time to relax by hunting and fishing.
He never failed to demonstrate his love for his children. He was a loving husband and longed for the day he could reunite with his sweet wife Coattie. His daughter, Evelyn, fondly recalls the special relationship between them. During their time together in Tennessee, they spent lots of time watching westerns; he would always tell her that he loved her after each visit with him. Trenish would remind her before she left to return home for her to drive safely and to be sure to lock her doors when she got home. That to her was him being a father to the very end. She would even take him sweet treats, and the time they spent together sharing personal things, enjoying calm discussions, and jokes from him that came out of the blue created a close bond. He was a kind person who loved being around family, especially at family gatherings, and he never met a stranger.
Preceding him in death were his spouse, Coattie Mason, his parents, Harry Mason and Ethue Rouse Mason Maxie, his sister, Sandra Jackson, and a brother-in-law, L.A. Jackson.
Left behind to cherish fond memories of him are his Daughter, Evelyn Mason of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his Son, Karl Rouse of West Paducah, Kentucky; one Grandson, Jacob Rouse of Vienna, Illinois; Three Brothers, Reverend Ronnie (Beverly) Mason, Glenn (Sonia) Rouse both of Paducah, Kentucky, and Perry (Shirley) Mason of West Paducah, Kentucky; a Step-Father, L.T. Maxie of West Paducah, Kentucky; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
