On Friday, June 21, 2024, at 4:30 A.M., Percy William Suggs, Jr., entered eternal rest at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. He was born the son of the late Percy William Suggs, Sr. and Gwendolyn Jean Shaw Bridgette.

Percy was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah and also attended Just By Faith Ministries in Metropolis, Illinois with his wife, Mechelle. He was formerly employed with James Marine where he worked in fire control. Percy also held positions of employment with Fleming Furniture and Darling Ingredients.

Percy will be remembered as a person who dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was available to support both family and friends whenever a need arose. He was very sociable and enjoyed hanging out with his friends, going swimming whenever possible, playing dominoes and driving about town with his wife.

Percy is survived by his loving wife, Mechelle Woods-Suggs of Paducah, KY; his children, Marcus Fry of Booneville, MS, Roger Duckworth, Modesty Nunn, Treracel Nunn, Jaden Woods, JaAvion Woods, JaKaylen Woods, all of Paducah, Ky, Percy William Suggs III of Hopkinsville, KY; his siblings; LaGreta Denise (Henry) Suggs Hunt, John (Sandy) Davidson Suggs, Pearl Brown, Jeffery Brown, Michael Brown, James Brown, all of Paducah, KY, Christina Suggs, Aaron Suggs, and Rachel Suggs, all of Ft. Wayne, IN; uncles, Thomas Jerome Alexander, Calvin Baskin, Kenny Baskin, Henry Shaw, Don Shaw; one aunt, Tanya Henderson, all of Paducah, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his special friends Terrance Mays and Emerson Wells Flournoy.

Percy was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Sherman Edward Bridgett; a sister, Sharon Suggs Wilson; two uncles, William Baskin and Ricky Baskin; two aunts, Marie Baskin and Sandra Shaw Trice; sons, Percy Suggs II and Cedric Fry Suggs; and his first wife, Renee Nunn-Suggs.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2024, 12:00 noon at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Calvin Cole, Sr. presiding and Reverend Dr. Gwendoly Addison of Just By Faith Ministries as the Eulogist.
