Pearlene Thomas, age 100, a longtime resident of Paducah, KY, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Broomall, Pennsylvania.
Pearlene was born on September 4, 1924, in Huntington, TN, to the late Neva and Leslie Thomas.
She was a faithful, hardworking, multifaceted, and independent woman who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and friend to many, always nurturing, always showing kindness, and always willing to help and pray about everything and everyone - no matter who it was.
Pearlene was full of life; she had a great sense of humor and enjoyed not only reading her Bible, hosting Bible study, cooking, canning, baking, and sewing but also storytelling, traveling and experiencing nature. She was also a passionate fashionista and an avid sports enthusiast, especially regarding wrestling and boxing.
The legacy of Pearlene lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She left a passion to make a difference in everyone’s life, sharing her love, knowledge, and wisdom.
In addition to her parents, Pearlene was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Thomas (Inez), grandsons, Michael Eugene Thomas and Donald Eugene Thomas, great-grandson, Patrick Wesley Jr., and siblings, Elizabeth Thomas, Sylvester Thomas, Bruce Thomas, Anna L. Thomas Clark, Thelma Thomas Hampton, Robbie Jean Thomas Barnette, Marzel Thomas, and Josephine Thomas.
Pearlene leaves to cherish her blessed memories of her life through her daughters - Wanda K. Thomas, Martiscia Thomas Mitchell, Inez Thomas (her beloved daughter-in-law), Billie Jean Coney, Renaee Campbell, Yolanda Jones, Elizabeth Thomas Stunson, her sons - Kennotha Thomas, Sean Thomas, Anton Thomas, Donald Thomas, her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends, and all those blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Broadway United Methodist Church 701 Broadway St. Paducah, KY 42001. Reception to follow service in Igert Hall.
Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.
