Linda Jane Mason Maxie, daughter of the late Elton Thomas Mason and the late Roberta Hill Mason, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, 11:19 a.m., at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Linda was born April 10, 1958, in Mayfield, Kentucky. At the time of her passing, she had lived for 67 years, 1 month, and 20 days. She was a member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a 1976 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. After graduating from Tilghman, she pursued her education at West Kentucky Vocational School, concentrating on Business Administration.
Her former employment included Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant and Blackhawk Bakery as a supervisor. Before her death, she worked as a private caregiver.
Linda enjoyed life to its fullest. Her physical appearance was just as important as her physical and emotional well-being. That is why she loved eating any and every fruit. She was a thrifty woman who enjoyed shopping at yard sales. She liked to dance, loved all types of music, and was a true fan of Tupac. Her clothing style was so unique that she was often called “Flossy Glossy”, a true Paducah Fashionista.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, Glenda Jean Mason and Brenda Gail Mason, one grandson, Labrian Holland, her paternal grandparents, Rube C. Mason and Hattie J. Mason, and her maternal grandparents, Lonnie Hill and Lula Rouse.
Left behind to cherish sweet memories of Linda are her Children, Sharonda Mason, Martin Mason, and Charlotte Laster; Grandchildren, Darrion “Tuda” Jones, Makur Mason, Mar’Shai Petty, and Bryana Holland; Siblings, Rosemary Mason, Phyllis Galbreath, and Elton Mason, Jr., all of Paducah, Kentucky, Nancy Reid of Florida, Tony (Tracy) Mason, Danny Mason and Kent (Melissa) Mason, all of Louisville, Kentucky; the Rouse Family (Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins) all of Paducah, Kentucky; Several Nieces and Nephews, Terran Mason, Clarissa Galbreath, Tamara Galbreath, Summer Galbreath, Michael (Bubba) Galbreath, Alonzo Mason, Edith Tulip Mason, and Maurice Wilson, all of Paducah, Kentucky, Crystal (Marcus) Mason Moody, Roberta Mason Drake, and Richard S.
