Larry Allen McKinney was called to his Heavenly Home from the Jackson Purchase Medical Center of Mayfield, KY, on Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Larry had travelled a full life here on earth for 77 years, 11 months and 23 days. He was born in Fulton, KY, to the late Wardell McKinney and Gwendolyn Johnson McKinney on January 4, 1947. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Janice Ross and Jacquette McKinney; his son, Marlahnd McKinney; his brother James McKinney; and his two sisters, Johnnie Wynn and Cathie Ferrell.
Larry was a very loyal and dedicated member of the Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he had served in various ministries. He was a Trustee of the Church, Church Bus Driver, Choir Member, an associate of the culinary department, and an all-around maintenance man. Larry attended the former Hickman Riverview High School and was a retired self-employed Auto Body worker. He was also a member of Jacksonville Lodge #50, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Tennessee. Larry also served patriotically in the Army National Guard of Tennessee and as a reserve in the US Army.
Larry was a cook in his own right, known for his green beans, chocolate pecan chess pies, and especially his homemade vanilla ice cream. He would quite often be found watching “Wheel of Fortune” and working with crossword puzzles.
He was quite often be found riding through Fulton as a man so grand. Larry will always be remembered for his favorite quote, “Ain’t Gonna Do It”,

Services are scheduled for Friday January 3, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Fulton, KY with Reverend Jessie Johnson officiating.
Masonic Rites will be held at 12:00 Noon.
