Gary attended church in his younger years and was of the Baptist faith.
He is most fondly remembered for his love of cars, attending vintage car shows and watching drag races in action. He had a passion for traveling, sweets and the Washington Red Skins. He had the ability to sell anything! However, the most memorable aspect of Gary was his love for his children and family.
Left behind to cherish sweet memories are his Father, Gary Lynn McDonald of Waterloo, IA; his Mother, Rosalind Roach Bass of Paducah, KY; Three Daughters, Asha White, Kendall Marie McDonald, both of Paducah, KY and Haley (Johnny) Towery of San Francisco, CA; Two Sons, Jamey McDonald of San Francisco, CA and Demetrius Blanks of Paducah, KY; Bonus Daughter, Aubrey Long, of Paducah, KY; Two Grandchildren, Eri Lynn Towery and Emme Lynn Towery, both of San Francisco, CA; his Grandmother, Suzanne Bacon of Paducah, KY; Five Aunts, Tracey Roach and Elcine (Johnny) Jackson, both of Paducah, KY, Megan McDonald and Erica Lynette Montgomery, both of Waterloo, IA, and Charlotte (Roger) Carter of FL; Great Aunts, Joyce (Thomas) Biles of Paducah, KY and Donzella Gaines of TX; One Uncle, James (Lisa) Roach of Winston-Salem, NC; Great Uncles, Ralph Gaines and Don Gaines, both of Paducah, KY; Nieces, Summer McDonald, China McDonald and Laken McDonald, all of Paducah, KY, and Jehrinee Hill of Milwaukee, WI, and a Host of Cousins, Special Friends and Other Relatives.
Preceding Gary in death were his brother, Beri Armagh McDonald, his step-father, Barry Lynn Bass, his paternal grandparents, Eric and Glenda McDonald, and his great grandparents, Raymond and Arthetta Gaines.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Donna G. Hawkins officiating.
There will be no visitation.
