Freddie J. Morris was born on November 14, 1961, in Corinth, Mississippi. At just six months old, he moved with his family to Paducah, Kentucky, where he would spend the rest of his life building deep connections with his community, family, and friends.
Freddie attended North Side School, continued to Heath Middle School, and graduated from Heath High School. He later pursued studies in business at Paducah Community College (PCC). A natural athlete, Freddie had a lifelong love for sports, excelling in basketball during his school years.
Freddie’s passion for cars began in high school. He took great pride in his first vehicle, a white 1976 Cutlass, which he kept spotless—even in the snow. Over time, he also developed a love for collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Freddie became the proud owner of Fred’s Casual Urban Wear, successfully operating three locations in Paducah, Murray, and Carbondale. For 16 years, he dedicated himself to his business and his customers, earning their respect and admiration. Freddie's warm personality, friendly demeanor, and strong work ethic made his stores more than just retail spaces—they were a cornerstone of the community.
Above all, Freddie was a devoted father. He supported his children unconditionally and was always just a phone call away. His love, guidance, and presence were constant in their lives. When he became a grandfather, his joy multiplied. He found a new purpose in taking his grandkids to school, picking them up, and sharing breakfast together. He was not only their grandpa but also their mentor, counselor, coach, and best friend.
Freddie was the kind of father who leads with love, patience, and quiet strength. He was present in the big moments and the small ones—whether it’s guiding with wisdom, cheering from the sidelines, or simply being there with a reassuring hug. He teaches not just with words but with example, showing what it means to be kind, responsible, and strong. His children know they are deeply loved and fully supported, because Freddie showed up every day with a heart full of devotion. In every way that matters, he was not just a good father, he was a great one.
Freddie was the kind of son every parent hopes for—thoughtful, dependable, and kind. He shows his love not just through words, but through the little things: checking in, lending a hand without being asked, and always putting family first. As a brother, Freddie was a steady presence, someone who listens without judgment and stands by you no matter what. He leads with heart, protects without hesitation, and brings a quiet strength that holds the family together. His loyalty and warmth make him more than just a good son and brother—he was a blessing.
Freddie was a man who would help anyone in need—whether through financial support or heartfelt advice. He never met a stranger, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone earned him the title of "Most Talkative" in school—an honor that truly suited him.
A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and admirer of legendary basketball players, Freddie was known and loved by many. His warmth, kindness, and humor left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Freddie is survived by his loving children: Movita Morris of Paducah, KY; Freddie Travis (Victoria) of Paducah, KY; Kristie Perkins (Derwin) of Paducah, KY; and Stephanie Morris of Paducah, KY.
He was a proud grandfather to Esmond “Es” Morris, Quinterious “Q” Bailey, Andrew Travis, Mariyah Morris, Evan Animashaun, Kingston Ricks, and Kaiden Perkins. He also leaves behind three beloved bonus grandchildren: Cincere Bailey, Andriah Hawthorne, and Davin Perkins; and his cherished dog, Sheba, lovingly known as “Best Paw.”
