Doris Marie Allen, age 89, of Carbondale, IL formerly of Paducah transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Carbondale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Doris was born on July 5, 1934 to her parents, George and Hildred Greer Cunningham in Paducah, KY.
Doris was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah and was a retired foundry worker at Service Web in Chicago, IL.
Doris was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. You would often find Doris drinking Coca-Cola’s, smoking cigarettes and talking plenty of trash to all that were in her presence. She was a joy to be around, always encouraging and praying sincere prayers that seemed to work for those she was praying too and for.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Allen, her parents, George and Hildred Greer Cunningham and one sister Eleanorine Jackson.
Those mourn to cherish her memory are one daughter, Marva Passmore, three granddaughters, Kim Passmore, Latasha Passmore, Jessica Passmore-Jones and one great-granddaughter, Paisley Jones all of Murphysboro, IL; two nieces, Renee Jackson of Paducah, KY and Joyce Gaines-Lipsey of Murphysboro, IL; seven great nieces, Dorchell Jackson, Tammy Halliburton both of Paducah, Jackie Gaines and Crystal Gaines both of Murfreesboro, TN, Tiffany Gaines and Rochelle Hayes both of Murphysboro, IL and Jasmine Black of Springfield, IL and one nephew, Cleophus Gaines of Murphysboro, IL and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, 12 noon at Oak Grove Cemetery will Reverend Michael Wade officiating.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation.
