Paducah | Nov. 29, 1956 | May. 24, 2024

DeVonna Ann Winston Martin left the cares of this world behind on Friday, May 24, 2024, to begin a new life in eternity. At the time of her passing, she had acquired 67 years, 5 months and 25 days on earth.

DeVonna, a 1973 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, attended Draughons Business College where she studied nursing. She was a member of Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries and was formerly employed in clinical support at Mercy Health Lourdes.

DeVonna, affectionately known to many as “Tiney”, believed in living life to the fullest and gave her whole heart and soul to whatever and to whoever had her attention. She celebrated everything. It was not unusual to find her yard decorated for every holiday, and it was a requirement that her birthday be celebrated with a party every year.

She was a very independent person with a big heart for others and could be counted on to be the life of any party. Cooking was one of her passions and she made sure no one ever went away hungry. She called herself “Martha Stewart’s cousin.” Shopping every week with her daughter, Karaoke, and music were also some of the things she enjoyed. Three things she dearly loved were her church, her grandchildren and having her car cleaned by her son. She was a “fashionista” who many thought of as the prettiest woman in Paducah.

DeVonna was preceded in death by her husband, James “Pee Wee” Martin; her parents Square Logan Winston and Jerline Elizabeth Forte-Harper; her paternal grandmother, Blanche Berryman; and her maternal grandmother, Mary Forte.

DeVonna leaves behind to cherish loving memories four daughters, Tarvia Winston of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Chiffon Winston, DeVonna (Elder Timothy) Winston-Green, LeAndria (Terry) Winston-Parker, Jr.; one son, Square Winston II, all of Paducah, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren, Javiel Winston, Jamaal Winston, Jewell Thomas, Jaleigha Winston, Ke’Audrea Hayes, Tyreke Winston, Terriae Parker, De’Mari Williams, Damon Winston, Bentley Troup, Eva Winston, and Aylanni Winston; one great grandchild, DaKereia Winston; one sister, Lynnette Diane Edmonds of Paducah; two nieces, Felicia Davis and LaShawn Edmonds; and a host of nephews, cousins and Special friends, Frank Pezzullo, Joann Woodson, Ann Elliott, Carmen Hinnant, Patricia Hayes, Patricia Holmes and Sheneal Loving.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2024, 12 noon at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries with Reverend Dr. Thaddyeus W. Thompson Sr. and Minister Shirley Thompson officiating.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
