David Senter went home to meet his Heavenly Father from his residence on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at approximately 6:20 a.m.

He was born to the parentage of R. C. Cobbs and Mary McKinney Cobbs on August 8, 1958, in Jackson, Mississippi.

David attended Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church and was a man who wore many hats, as he performed various jobs around the city helping whomever he could.

David, a quiet person keeping mostly to himself, was very outspoken but very much opinionated. He was a very giving person, a free hearted person and oh so protective of his family which he loved dearly. He often showed his hand at playing Dominos and spades, while also enjoying cars and trucks.

In speaking with his family and upon ending their conversation over the phone, he never said goodbye, he said, “That was for dead people.” He always ended in saying “One” his sister would reply “One Two” then he would come back and say “One” then hang up.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. C. Cobbs and Mary McKinney Cobbs, one grandson, Brandarius Hamilton, two sisters, Dorothy Senter and Betty J. Hunter and one brother, W. F. Senter.

He leaves to cherish sweet memories, one daughter, Tanika Brown of Paducah and bonus daughter who she called David “Pop Pop”, Kala Brown of Paducah; one grandson, DeVarius Young of Paducah; two sisters, Mary L. Hervey of Memphis, TN and Carrie Hervey of Water Valley, MS; eight nieces, five nephews and a host of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and other relatives.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Pettus Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Raynarldo Henderson officiating.

There will be no visitation.
