Carolyn Virginia Kindle, the daughter, of the late Quedellus and Mignon Meadows (Crim) in Massac County, Illinois.

Departed this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the age of 75 at 10:31 a.m. at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.

Carolyn had a strong faith.  She accepted Jesus as Lord of her life at the age of twelve at the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she remained a member for several years.  She later joined Faith Lutheran Church where she had remained a faithful member until her death.

Carolyn married Charles Kindle and to that union two children were born, Jonathan T. Kindle and Justin M. Kindle.  She was a proud mother who loved them beyond measure.  They were blessings from God.

Carolyn was the seventh child of fifteen children.  She lived and worked in Massac County.  She was an educator for forty-five years.  She counted it a privilege to have had the experience of working and helping students at all levels of their education. She served as teacher and principal for Massac Unit School District #1 (35 years). She worked at Shawnee Community College the last ten years of her career as director of a Federal Trio program, and as the Interim Vice President, and Vice President of Student Services.  Carolyn believed all children are worthy.  She believed one's current circumstances did not have to determine one's future.  She was an active member of the community.  She served on many local, regional and state boards. Her children and family were the light of her life.  She enjoyed watching westerns and the old tv series like Perry Mason.  She also enjoyed listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her parents: father, Quedellus Meadows, her mother Mignon Meadows, two brothers, William Meadows (Billy) and wife Shirley; Quedellus Leroy Meadows (Tot), and three sisters: Betty Sutton and husband Charles; Kathryn Meadows (Nannie), and Dorothy Chapman and husband, Herschel; and one niece, Beverly Sutton, and one brother-in-law, Leon Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Jonathan Kindle and Justin Kindle both of Metropolis; two sisters, Lawanda Meadows of Berkeley, IL and Rhonda Jones of Metropolis; three brothers, Kenneth Meadows of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Ronald Meadows of Paducah and Jackie Meadows (Brenda) of Metropolis; two step-grandchildren, Paige Box and Hunter Box; one godchild, Alyssa Logeman and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 2023, 12 noon at Akins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Reverend Jackie Meadows and Reverend Robert Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Akins- Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home of Metropolis.
