Ann Sheridan Bolen Barron, a kind, loving mother of four, peacefully departed this earth surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 7:28 p.m. at Baptist Health Hospital. Born on January 9, 1947, in Paducah, KY, the cherished daughter of Earl Bolen and Lou Ella Jackson, she spent her entire life in her beloved hometown.
A devoted member of St. James Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Ann took on numerous roles, from usher to the president of the usher board, teacher of Children’s Sunday School and directed the Children and Youth’s Department. She was a valued trustee and an active member of the Willing Workers.
After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1965, Ann furthered her education by earning an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Draughns’ Business College. After many years, she retired from the United States Postal Service where she worked as a supervisor clerk.
Ann's love for her family was endless. Two of her favorite pastimes included playing Tonk and fishing whenever possible. Her creative side emerged through painting and sewing, and she enjoyed watching her all-time favorite soap opera, "Days of Our Lives." Her favorite color was known as "money green." Known for her sweet tooth, Ann always looked forward to dessert. Tootsie Rolls and orange slices were her top candy picks along with Munal’s donuts. Whenever she was near a store, Twinkies always made it in her shopping cart. Holidays were special occasions for Ann, and she loved to dress up for any celebration. April Fool’s Day was a beloved holiday for her as she was known to be a practical joker. Ann was very particular about her appearance. She dressed every day. Even before eating breakfast, she would be fully clothed in her outfit for the day.
Ann was preceded in death by Her Parents, Earl Bolen and Lou Ella Jackson Williams; One Son, William Andre’ Bolen; Two Brothers, Ronnie Gene Williams and Jeffery Williams; and One Sister, Jerri Williams.
