William “Willie” Alexander Nisbet, III passed away at the age of 79 on March 12, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend.

He had a lifelong connection to the University of Kentucky. Willie walked onto the University of Kentucky freshman basketball team during the 1964-1965 season and remained a dedicated fan of UK athletics throughout his life.

Willie was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. He often served as an usher and that is where he built his faith. He enjoyed horse racing, especially the tradition and excitement of the Kentucky Derby.

Above all, Willie valued time with his family and the memories he shared his four children and eight grandchildren.

Willie will be remembered for his selflessness and kindness, always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. Through volunteer work providing legal aid, he continued to serve those in need and support his community.

The family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Providence Pointe and Mercy Health - Lourdes Outpatient Infusion Therapy for taking such great care of their loved one.
