William W. South passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at River Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation in Paducah, Kentucky. He was born in Glynn County, Georgia, to the late William M. South and LaFaye Smith South.
William proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He spent many years working alongside his father in the family business, Bill South Construction. Later, he worked for himself as a window cleaner.
William was a devoted sports fan who especially loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly bass fishing. His favorite place to visit was Jekyll Island, Georgia, where he made many cherished memories over the years.
He is survived by his sister, Deborah South Brown of Mayfield; his brother-in-law, George “Sonny” Brown Jr., and his wife, Deborah Jackson, of Pryorsburg, Kentucky; and his nephews, Corey Brown (Marisa) of Paducah, Kentucky, and Wes Brown (Sarah) of Benton, Kentucky.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
