William Edward "Bill" Ray

William Edward “Bill” Ray, 77, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home.
Mr. Ray was born on September 19, 1944 in Miami, Florida to the late, James and Frances Prato Ray.  He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where he was a member of the Men’s Club and choir. Bill retired as a Maintenance Engineer for Credence Speakers Inc. in Kevil, Kentucky and was a member of the Paducah Jazz Ensemble and the Paducah Community Band.  He was an avid golfer and was involved in church music for over fifty years.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine “Cathy” Elizabeth Evans Ray; two daughters, Elizabeth Demeter (Shaun) of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Sarah Gawarecki (Danny) of Louisville, Kentucky; a son, Daniel Ray of Portugal; a grandson, Harris Gawarecki; a sister, Pat Richards of Kissimmee, Florida; a brother, Rick Ray of Orange Park, Florida.
A funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. 
Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the service hour of 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
A private family burial will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on a later date.
