Virginia Sue Lowe, 85, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at her residence. Virginia leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and unwavering faith. She was a woman of many talents and even greater heart, touching the lives of all who knew her.
A self-taught artist, Virginia expressed her creativity in countless ways. She enjoyed playing the guitar, singing in her church choir, and pouring her talents into stained glass, ceramics, and sewing. As a skilled seamstress, she lovingly crafted wedding gowns, costumes, and many other pieces, each stitched with care and dedication. She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
Virginia’s laughter was truly infectious, and her generous spirit knew no bounds. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offering kindness and support to anyone in need. A devoted parent and grandparent, she went above and beyond for her family. She opened her home and her heart, raising and caring for her grandchildren, some of whom she welcomed in for extended periods. She was known as the family’s “taxi driver,” always making sure her loved ones were where they needed to be, never asking for anything in return.
A strong and faithful Christian, Virginia was a true prayer warrior whose faith guided her throughout her life. She was a survivor—resilient, determined, and ambitious in everything she pursued. As the middle child, she often took on the role of peacemaker, bringing calm and understanding to those around her.
Above all, Virginia was a loyal friend, a loving soul, and a pillar of strength. Her life was a beautiful example of compassion, creativity, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Stacy Lowe of Wickliffe; her brother, Stanley (Margie) Griffin of Hickory, North Carolina; three grandchildren, April (Clint) Thornburg, Stephanie (Angie) Holtman, and Jenny Willie; two step-grandchildren, Allen (Laura) Poole and Sarah (Eddie) Haynes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William T. Lowe; her daughter, Lisa Ann Poole; two sisters, Mary Goodwin and Lovena Mackie; and her parents, Roy and Vina Bell Griffin.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wickliffe City Cemetery in Wickliffe, Kentucky, with Pastor Gloria Capshaw officiating.
