Vernon Lee Traughber, age 70, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on November 10, 2024, in Fulton, Kentucky. Born on March 28, 1954, Vernon was a man whose vibrant spirit and generous heart enriched the lives of all who knew him.
A true Wildcat at heart, Vernon found joy in the thrills of University of Kentucky basketball, cheering on his team with unyielding passion. His love for outdoor activities shone brightly on sunny days spent grilling and fishing, where he was often found with a hearty laugh and a warm smile, sharing stories with friends and family. Vernon's culinary skills were a testament to his love for cooking, particularly on the grill where his signature dishes left a lasting impression. The calm serenity of fishing offered him a treasured escape and a chance to relish the simple pleasures of life. Vernon's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the rich tapestry of moments he shared with those around him.
Vernon is survived by a daughter Amanda (Trisha Gomel) Traughber of Clarksville, Tennessee; two sons, Jason (Cheri) Turner of Benton, Kentucky and James (Angie) Turner of Paducah; two grandchildren, Alex and Allison Turner; and a brother, Robert (Jean) Traughber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Traughber and Mary Anna Ross Traughber; and a brother, David Traughber.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Rev. Bob Martin officiating.
