Our beloved Tommy Joe Myers of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on September 28, 2024, at the age of 74.
Tommy was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Paducah, Kentucky, where he served as a Deacon for many years and was honored as a Deacon emeritus. He loved his church family and was passionate about making sure anyone walking through the doors knew that they were loved by the Lord.
Tommy was born July 2, 1950, in Cairo, Illinois. During his life, he was a farmer and construction laborer. He retired from Crouch Building Associates (now known as Artisan Contractors of KY). He enjoyed caring for his “babies” (cattle). Farming was a way for him to spend time and make many memories with his son. His goals were to provide for his family, ensure they were in church, and find their way to Jesus. His goals were accomplished. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and riding the 4-wheeler with his beloved dog, Buddy. If you were a friend to Tommy, you were considered a “Dandy.” Tommy Joe was a twin to Howard Lee, and a favorite memory he shared often was about how Howard took a spanking for Tommy in school! He loved that he and Howard shared a birthday with their twin nieces, and their names were Karla Jo and Kelly Lee. He made sure those around him laughed and knew he and the Lord loved them.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Micca Moore Myers; one son, Michael Joe Myers (Melissa); a grandson, Easton Avery Myers; a nephew, Dustin Wade Moore (Aly) Wickliffe, Kentucky; two sisters, Carolyn Blanks (Late Bill Blanks) of Wickliffe, Kentucky and Sherrie Myers of Red Lodge Montana; brothers, Howard Lee Myers (Jeanie) of Wickliffe, Kentucky, and Gary Myers (Karen) of Wickliffe, Kentucky; one brother in law, Harper Housman; and many nieces and nephews, whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Allan Myers, his parents, TB and Kathlean Myers, and his sister, Janice Housman.
