Sylvia Ann Kelly, age 86, of Kevil, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at 12:15 A.M. on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at her home.

Sylvia was born on Monday, May 23, 1938, to Christie and Margaret Salisbury, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. She had a zest for life like no other. Her life was as bright as the flowers she adored and as free as the birds she loved to watch. Her love for life was evident to anyone who knew her. Sylvia enjoyed going out to eat seafood and getting together with family and friends, and her passion to dance was a beautiful testament to her joyous spirit and charm. She was a sight to behold on the dance floor and rarely missed a singles night dance, those were her nights to gather with friends. She cherished the simple pleasure of life. Sylvia was what we called a "road runner". She loved hopping behind the wheel of her car and just driving, rarely knowing her destination. Her memory will forever be a beacon of light and joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Katie R. Kelly Tanner (Mike) of Kevil; her sons, John G. Kelly (Shirley) of Kevil, Colin Kelly (Tonia) of Kirksey, Kentucky, and Shawn H. Kelly (Teri) of Lowes, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Kayla Wheeler (Jeff), Sam Tanner (Savannah) Tony Jackson (Natalie), John Kelly, Jr (Whitney), Patrick Kelly, Chris Kelly, Jessica Tucker (Josh), and Courtney Kelly(Clay); and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Evan Andrew Kelly, Sr; son, Evan Andrew Kelly, Jr; parents, Christie C. Salsbury and Margaret Mary Raney Salisbury; and her brother, Chris Salisbury.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Glen Crowe officiating.  Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery in West Paducah, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the service time of 1:00 P.M. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
