Steve R. Cooper, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on March 25, 1965, in Paducah, Kentucky, his journey came to a peaceful end at Life Care Center of La Center.
Steve led an exemplary life, filled with dedication to his family and community. For over three decades, Steve was an owner of Cooper Lumber & Supply. His commitment to his community was further underscored by his tenure as a Councilman for Barlow before taking on the role of a Magistrate of Ballard County for 16 years. Steve was of the Christian faith and attended Anchor of Hope in Wickliffe.
Embracing the great outdoors, Steve was an avid hunter. He loved to go duck and deer hunting. He found joy and peace in nature. He mowed the yard every chance he had. Steve had a passion for sports, with a devotion to NASCAR, cheering on UK basketball, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tana Cooper, of Wickliffe; a daughter, Sydney (Todd) Adams of Wickliffe; a son, Seth Cooper of Lexington, Kentucky; his father, Danny Cooper; and one brother, Jason Cooper; and grandchildren who affectionately knew him as "Pop", Maggie and Cohen Adams.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Charlotte Stevens Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Dee Hazlewood and Todd Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Oscar Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the funeral home.
