Sophia Juliette Harmon, a beacon of light and love, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, at the age of 55, in Paducah, Kentucky. Born on February 13, 1969, in Jackson, Tennessee to Bernice Harmon and William Hoyle, Sophia's life was a testament to the power of kindness and generosity.
Sophia was a cherished member of the Christ Temple Apostolic Church, where her faith and commitment to service shone brightly. She was a woman whose laughter filled the room, and her outgoing nature drew people to her. Sophia's passion for life was evident in everything she did, from her love of feeding others to her unwavering support for anyone in need. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, always seeking to make the most of every moment. She was the kind of person who would stop to help a stranger, offer a warm meal to a friend, and give her time selflessly to those around her.
Sophia's legacy is one of love and selflessness. Described by those who knew her as thoughtful, generous, and loving, she made a lasting impact on the many lives she touched. Her spirit, characterized by her kindness and zest for life, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sophia is survived by three sons, Lavonte Harmon of Lexington, Quante Harmon, Sr., (Katie) of Lexington, Jose’ Harmon of Paducah; her mother, Bernice Harmon of Paducah; one sister, Dannietta Harmon of Paducah; two brothers, Johnny Harmon of Nashville, Timothy Harmon of Paducah; four grandchildren, A’Mirykal Shumpert, Kameron Fowler, A’Lique Shumpert and Quante Harmon, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Anthony Walton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
