Shirley Hunt, age 88, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center.
Shirley was born on August 13, 1936 in Ballard County to the late Albert Sidney Rollins and Kathleen Edith Ellis Rollins. Shirley was a long time member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and a proud graduate of Ballard County High School. Shirley’s love for her church was teaching Sunday School for nearly every age group, leading classes with projects that included Christmas Food projects and helping with funeral meals for church members.
Shirley and Eddie had deep feelings for Veterans and Wounded Warrior projects, and that led Shirley to plan and prepare snacks to be used at the Veterans Clinic for those coming to the clinic.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Hunt of Sarasota, Florida; one son, Kenny (Jennifer) Hunt of Paducah; two sisters, Linda Rollins, Paducah, Kentucky and Elizabeth White, Enid, Oklahoma; one brother, Laddie (Becky) Rollins, Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her husband, Eddie Hunt, and her parents.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
