Ruth Pettit Mize

Ruth Pettit Mize, a cherished and respected member of the Wickliffe, Kentucky community, passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 88 in Paducah, Kentucky.
 
Born on January 27, 1936, Ruth dedicated many years of service as a Program Assistant for the United States Department of Agriculture, where her commitment and hard work left a lasting imprint. Ruth's passion for the outdoors was evident through her love of gardening—a hobby that brought her immense joy and a touch of beauty to her surroundings. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great solace and fellowship attending Bardwell Baptist Church regularly.
 
Ruth is survived by three nephews, Mark Pettit, Michael Scholes and Robert Scholes
 
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Cecil Mize; two sisters, Angie Lois Scholes and Ernestine Moss; a brother, Thomas Pettit; and her parents, Arthur and Molly Rye Pettit.
 
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on January 2, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Bro. Larry Fraser will be officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wickliffe.
 
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 12:00 PM on January 2, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
