Ronald (Ronnie) Nichols, 84, of Paducah, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. He was born on February 6, 1942, to the late Niles Spence Nichols and Mattie Mae Ward in Paducah, KY.
Ronnie was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. After High School, Ronnie entered the United States Air Force and served from February 1966 to December 1969. As a member of IBEW Local 816, his commitment to excellence and safety marked Ronnie’s career as an electrician. His expertise and reliability made him a respected figure in the industry.
Upon retiring, Ronnie did not slow down; instead, he channeled his energy into his passions for restoring old cars. In addition to his automotive restorations, Ronnie was an accomplished craftsman in woodworking. He had a unique ability to see the potential, both past and present, in a piece of wood, restoring or building it into beautiful, functional furniture. Ronnie was a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Parker Nichols of Paducah, and a brother, Charlie Nichols of Paducah, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dr. Ronald R. Nichols II.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Jamey Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
