Ronald E. Farris, age 86, of Paducah, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 8, 2024.
Ron was born in Cairo, Illinois on December 4, 1937, to the late Marion I. and Bertha Irene Huffman Farris. He was a faithful member, and deacon, at Reidland Baptist Church. Ron graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1961 and began working, that same year, as a Mechanical Engineer for Edward Hannan & Associates. He continued working for his company, Farris, Hatcher, Tremper and Associates until his retirement. After retirement, Ron kept busy farming and raising cattle. He loved his family, his church, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Farris is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna Dalton Farris; two sons, Todd Farris of Paducah and Kyle Farris (Joy) of Calvert City, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Kaylyn Farris, Taylor Oakley (Logan), Kelsey Higgins (Casey), Abbey Blackburn (Colby), Jillian Myers (Austin), and Sam Farris (Eden); eight great-grandchildren, Ayven, Paisley, Miles, Brinley, Riley Kate, Farris, Linney, and Emerson and two twin boys on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Carol Ann Cox; brother, Kenny Farris; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Reidland Baptist Church, with Rev. Rob Ison officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
