Robert Louis Dunaway

Robert Dunaway, age 83, of Boaz, KY passed away at 2:22 a.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his home.
  
Robert was a 1958 graduate of St. John High School and a US Navy veteran.  Robert was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in Little Rock, AR. and Illinois Central where he worked as a Pipefitter.  Robert was the individual that enjoyed working at his job, did not see it as work.  Robert hobbies included hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking and was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.  He enjoyed his golfing “buddies” and the many times they could play and get together at Paxton Park.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Williametta Rodgers Dunaway; three sons, Roger (Laura) Dunaway of Apollo Beach FL, Rodney (Veda) Dunaway of Hickory, KY and Ronald Dunaway of Boaz, KY; two sisters, Julia Cavanaugh and Kay (Frank) Kern both of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Rhea Anne (Travis) Peck, Shane (Bridgett) Dunaway, Jennifer Williams, Tori (Jeff) Sillman and Tristin Dunaway ; ten great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Hunter, Hagen, Bella, William, Blaise, Kennedi, Anna, Ember and Brooklyn.

Preceding in death were his parents, Floyd Dunaway and Edwina Reason Dunaway.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Tilford officiating.  Burial will follow at the Dunaway Cemetery on the Lovelaceville/Florence Station Road with military honors.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr.
