Robert Kenneth Ragan, 84, known affectionately as Ken to his friends and loved ones, passed away on November 10, 2025, in Paducah, Kentucky, after battling many hard-fought illnesses.
Ken was born on November 7, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Robert Nathaniel and Iva Delores Wilson Ragan. A devout Christian, Ken's faith was a cornerstone of his existence. He walked through life with a sense of humility, grace, and an enduring sense of compassion that reflected his deep spiritual convictions. Ken embarked on a dedicated career with West Vaco, where he worked for over 35 years in the maintenance department. Ken's love for sports was both profound and infectious. He spent many enjoyable hours on the golf course, finding joy and camaraderie in the game. And he was an avid supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals; he hardly missed watching a game. A true-blue University of Kentucky sports fan, Ken's loyalty to his team was unwavering. He shared his passion for sports with his family and friends, contributing to a lively atmosphere whenever games were on. Above all, Ken was a family man. His love for his family was deep and constant.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Suzanne Terry Ragan; three daughters, Yvonne, Michelle (Kelly), and Marci; two sons, Mike and David; a brother, Keith (Sandy) Ragan of Marshall County; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie, and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Henderson Hawkins officiating.
