Robert Combs Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Paducah, Kentucky, on January 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 11, 1943, in Virginia, he lived a full and adventurous life.

A proud Army veteran, Robert's discipline and patriotism were the cornerstones of his character. He vigorously worked his way up through his coal mining career. His time in leadership positions as Mine Foreman and ultimately Mine Boss were some of his greatest accomplishments and fondest memories. His love for the great outdoors was boundless; he thrived in the natural world, whether he was riding jet skis, cruising on his pontoon boat, or enjoying the tranquility of nature. Robert was also an enthusiastic and self-taught carpenter, a hobby through which he expressed his creativity and skillful craftsmanship.

Known for his deep admiration and fascination of fast and classic automobiles, he joyfully nurtured this passion throughout his life. His devotion to his family was paramount; Robert treasured every moment with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom he adored immensely.

A robust supporter of President Trump, Robert held his political views with conviction. His compassionate spirit, contagious enthusiasm for life, and the countless memories forged with loved ones form a legacy that will be cherished forever. Robert's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirited zest for life will continue to inspire.

Robert is survived by two sons, Scott (Laura) Combs of Paducah, and David “Bebo” Combs of Wildersville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Sarah Combs Colston, Jaida Combs, Mia “Charlea” Combs, and Mitchell Combs; four great-grandchildren, Gentry Colston, Luella Colston, Cullen Combs, and Samuel Combs; and two sisters, Jean Mitchell of Paris, Kentucky, and Kathleen Fox of Bentown, Kentucky.

Robert was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua “Tray” Combs; three sisters, Inez Noble, Illina Norwich, and Nancy Woody; three brothers, Billy Combs, Arley Combs, and Carlos Combs; and his parents, Robert Combs Sr. and Jipsy Combs.
