Richard Weaver Pigg, age 76, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, entered his heavenly father's arms on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Richard was born on July 19, 1948, to the late James Wydell and Eva Ruth (Weaver) Pigg. After graduating from Beardstown Illinois High School in 1966, Richard joined the US Navy. He then worked as a chemical operator for ServiceMaster in Cairo, Illinois, for 32 years before the plant closed. Later, Richard worked as an office manager of the Town and Country Grocery store in Wickliffe, Kentucky.

Richard was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. But most of all, he was a devoted Christian and pastor. He lived his life daily, serving his Lord and Savior. In 1978, he surrendered to the call of ministry and served as pastor of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Cairo, Illinois, the First Christian Church of Cairo, and the First Christian Church in Wickliffe.

Richard was very well-known in the community. He never met a stranger and loved talking to people. He was willing to help anyone in need and never questioned why. Richard always shared the love of Jesus with everyone he met. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. If there was one thing Richard loved to do in his free time, it was to cheer on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats.

Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cathy (Bobbett) Pigg; his children, Richie (Brandi) Pigg of Murray, Josh (Brandee) Pigg of Barlow, and Angel Feezor (Robert Bailey) of Wickliffe; nine grandchildren, Isaac and Emmitt Pigg, Savannah (Bradley) Dix, Ethan and Shayne Pigg, Isaac, Faith, August, and Grayson Feezor; a great-grandson Matheo Riis Dix; one brother, James (Patty) Wydell of Beardstown, Illinois; two sisters, Twila Brown of Wickliffe, and Cheryl (Lynnie) Perry of Beardstown Illinois; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Waiting for him with open arms as he entered into heaven were his parents, grandparents, son Jamie, and grandson Christopher, along with many other friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe, with Dee Hazlewood officiating.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to the service time of 2:00 p.m.
