Randal Duane Houser left the confines of his earthly body on Tuesday evening September 24, 2024. He has now embarked on his journey to a destination of unbridled joy and peace, free of sorrow and pain. Randal was born on January 14, 1935 in Paducah, Kentucky to Johnnie James Houser and Ruby Clark Houser Bearden. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky and went on to become a licensed Physical Therapist. Randal retired from Western Baptist Hospital and worked for several nursing homes in the area providing physical therapy to their patients. When Randal retired at age 80, he was the oldest practicing Physical Therapist in the state of Kentucky.
Randal married Carolyn Sue Rhew on September 6, 1957 and they raised son, Kris and daughter, Kara. Randal was a passionate University of Kentucky basketball fan and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. More importantly he was a devout Christian and served as an elder at Houser Grove Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his wife by Carolyn Rhew Houser, one daughter; Kara Houser Ford; one sister, Violet Eddings, and one brother; Jewell "JD" Houser.
Survivors include one son, Kris Houser MD of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Jorden Skipworth, Sydne Skipworth, Alexis Houser, Kaden Houser and Kelsey (Brady) Turner; son-in-law, Hank Ford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Justin Hastie officiating. Burial will follow at Houser Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
